Alphonsa School, Kalamjote, a unit of the Koderma Franciscan Clarist Sister's Society is a Christian Minority School under the management of the Franciscan Clarist Sisters who are engaged in Educational, Medical and Social work all over India Since its origin on 14th December 1888.
The Franciscan Clarist Sisters are the members of the third order of St. Francis. Alphonsa School is named after St. Alphonsa who was an Indian religious nun belonging to the Franciscan Clarist congregation. She is the Pride of India now as she is the First Indian woman saint to be canonized on October 12th 2008.
Alphonsa School was established on 3rd April 1995 and since then one grade was added every year until it became a full-fledged High School having I.C.S.E. syllabus. It is a co-educational school.

School Regulations & Policies
Admission Guidelines
- Boys and girls are admitted to the Pre-Nursery at the age of 3 to 3½ years and Nursery at the age of 4 to 4½ years.
- An interview of the child and the parents is required prior to the admission.
- Student seeking admission to any other class except Pre-Nursery is to sit for an admission test.
- Guardians are asked to fill the admission form with utmost accuracy. No changes will be permitted thereafter for any reason whatsoever.
- A transfer certificate from the school last attended should be submitted at the time of admission.
Withdrawal & Dismissal Policy
- Before withdrawing a student from the school a month's notice is to be given or a month's fee in lieu of notice.
- Any pupil failing two years in succession in the same class or failing twice in three consecutive years will not be allowed to continue their studies in the school.
- Immorality, grave insubordination, contempt to authority or willful damage to school property are always sufficient reasons for dismissal.
- Repeated absence renders the student liable to dismissal.
- Use of drugs or intoxicants, rowdyism, rude behavior, casteism and communalism may cause immediate dismissal.
Fee Structure & Payment Policy
- Fees are charged for 12 months for all classes.
- School Fees to be deposited online from the 1st to the 15th of every month from April.
- A late fine of Rs. 100/- will be levied from every student if the fee is paid after the 15th of every month.
- The School reserves its right to revise the fees without prior notice at any time of the school year if any increment is deemed necessary.
- A six months Fee must be cleared before the commencement of the First Semester.
Library Rules
- All students of Std. VI-X may borrow books from the library.
- Strict silence shall be observed in the library and the reading room.
- Students who keep books longer than the time permitted will be fined Rs. 50/- per day.
- Each pupil is entitled to take out on loan one book at a time and keep the same for one week.
- All books taken from the library should be returned two weeks before the examinations.
General Rules & Regulations
- Students should treat others respectfully and are responsible for others' good name.
- A clean and neat uniform must be worn at all times.
- All children are expected to bring their Tiffin with them. Fast food items/Junk food and non-veg food items are strictly forbidden.
- Pupils are not allowed to attend School when sick and/or suffering from an infectious disease.
- Students are forbidden to bring crackers and other dangerous materials to school.
- As Alphonsa School family steers forward in creating an eco-friendly environment, students are strictly forbidden to bring any form of poly bags and plastic items to school.
